The PHUKET UNMISSABLE To Do List

Are you coming to Phuket? Phuket is a big island.
There's so much to see and do. Patong tends to   be the most well known but trust me Phuket
has so much more to offer than only one area.   Don't go to Phuket without visiting some of these
places we're going to show you in this video. Let's start by having a look at some of the
beaches. Phuket has a total of more than 40 beaches.  Beaches in the north such as Nai Yang and Mai Khao
tend to be quieter and more peaceful beaches and   the beaches in the southwest tend to attract a
lot more people. Patong Beach is the most popular   but whether it's the most beautiful is debatable.
You can try parasailing or jet skiing here. Patong   is a big town with lots of hotels, restaurants and
there's a party every night when the sun goes down.  If you're looking for a less crowded
beach though you should head to Kata Beach.  Here you'll find a wide white sandy beach and
you can find a wide selection of restaurants   close to the beach and there's plenty of hotels
to suit all budgets.

Very close to Kata Beach   you'll find Kata Noi which is a sandy bay and
it's blessed with crystal clear blue sea it's   gorgeous. This spot is not as well known as
Kata but it's definitely not to be missed.   If you head south you'll find the beautiful
Nai Harn Beach which is surrounded by green   hills making it extremely picturesque. Nai Harn has
kept its natural charm due to being untouched.   It's a protected bay and nothing can
be built on it.

This is only a small   selection of the beaches on offer in Phuket.
Each has its own character charm and beauty. If you're looking for fun activities
away from the beach and love water parks   then you're in for a treat because Phuket's
new water park Andamanda opened in May 2022.   When you first enter the water park you'll find
a zone that caters specifically for children. For the more adventurous among you there's
a selection of slides for you to choose from.   Look at this one. Are you brave enough
to try this vertical drop slide? You can test your skill on the flowrider. It's not as easy as it looks but after a few attempts i'm
sure you'll get the hang of it.  You can also grab yourself an inflatable
ring and float around the lazy river or   jump in the large pool and catch a few waves.
This is a great day out for people of all ages. A trip to Phuket wouldn't be complete without
visiting Big Buddha.

This impressive white   marble statue stands at 34 meters tall. The
construction of the statue began back in 2002   and it's been built entirely from donations.
You can also contribute if you want by buying   one of the small white marble tiles
and writing your name on the back of   it. The road up to Big Buddha is steep but it's
worth it as you're rewarded with a panoramic view   once you reach the top. To the north you
can see from Chalong all the way to Panwa   and to the south you can see Karon Beach.

If
you're wearing shorts or a skirt make sure   they're not too short but if so you'll be given
a sarong to wear which is provided for free. A visit to Chalong Temple is definitely
worth adding to your Phuket itinerary.   You can combine this with a trip
to Big Buddha as these two places   are not too far from one another.

Wat Chalong was built in the 19th century   and it's Phuket's largest and most popular
temple. The most recent building on the   grounds is the 60 meter tall chedI which
shelters a splinter of bone from Buddha. Inside the walls and ceilings
are decorated with paintings   illustrating the life of Buddha and
each floor is full of donated statues.   If you go up the stairs you reach a terrace which
gives you a wonderful panoramic view to enjoy.   Remember to dress appropriately and take
off your shoes and hats before you enter. One of the activities that Phuket
is now most famous for is Muay Thai   also known as Thai boxing this ancient martial art
is Thailand's national sport.

It attracts thousands   of people to the island every year. In addition to
Muay Thai there's a famous street in Phuket called   Soi Taied where you can find a range of Muay Thai
camps, fitness centers, gyms, spas and health shops.   If you're aiming for the perfect beach body
then this is definitely the place to go. When it comes to viewpoints you're
spoiled for choice in Phuket. A few of the most popular spots include
Phormthep Cape in the south not far from   Nai Harn. You can catch a magnificent
sunset here. You'll find many of the   locals and tourists waiting eagerly with their
cameras to catch that perfect Instagram shot.

Not far from here you'll find Windmill Hill
Viewpoint which offers a spectacular view of   Yanui Beach on one side and Nai Harn Beachh on the
other. It's a well-known spot due to the huge white   windmill visible in the distance. Karon Beach
Viewpoint might be the most famous panorama in all   of Phuket. From here you get a bird's eye view of
three bays Kata, Kata Noi and Karon and if you want   to see Phuket Town from above you can head up to
Rang Hill. Up here you'll get an awesome view of   Chalong, Big Buddha and Panwa. Be mindful though
if you do go up Rang Hill there can often be   a lot of monkeys. don't feed them.

They might seem
tame but believe you me they can be unpredictable. When it comes to nightlife Bangla Road in
Patong is definitely the most iconic. It   certainly isn't to everyone's taste but a walk
through Bangla Road is definitely an experience.   You can find a range of beer bars, go go bars,
live music, street performers and night clubs.   But Phuket's nightlife comes in many shapes
and sizes.

You can start your night off   enjoying a cocktail in one of the rooftop bars.
Kee Sky Lounge in Patong is a popular spot. On a   clear night you can catch an amazing sunset before
walking to Bangla Road which is very close by.   On the other hand you can head to one of the
beach bars. You can find Kudo Beach Club in Patong or you can head to Kamala
where you can find Cafe del Mar   or Pine Beach Club or if you want to head
further up north you can head to Bang Tao   where you can grab some food at Beach Pig
or you can head to one of the beach clubs. Spending an evening or two at one of Phuket's
night markets is a must-do activity. Each night   market has its own unique charm. First up we
have Chilva market which is a weekday market   and here you'll find many items
on sale such as handicrafts,  clothing, jewelry, sports shops and lots of gadgets
and accessories but don't forget to try some of   the delicious street food that's on offer.

If
you're curious about the taste of crocodile, jellyfish or fried insects then Chilva
Market is definitely the place to go. The biggest night market has to be Naka Market
otherwise known as Phuket's weekend market.   Naka Market can be hot crowded and intense
but this all adds to the experience. Everything   you probably don't need but will end up
buying anyway is here and a lot of it is   fake. The market's divided into two sections,
shopping and food make sure you visit both areas and there's also the Sunday Weekend Market on a
Sunday Thalang Road which is usually quite quiet   comes alive and on a Sunday
there's a lot of street food   for you to choose from and
the atmosphere is wonderful.   There's a lot of street entertainers there
just adding to the amazing atmosphere.

Of course you might be wondering
about transport in Phuket,  Firstly with taxis there's three apps
available, Grab Bolt and Indriver.   Grab is more well known but Bolt and Indriver
are the cheaper options. A convenient way to get   from the airport to your destination is with
a Phuket Smart Bus. It goes from Phuket Airport   to Rawai Beach and there's 15 stops along the
way and it only costs 100 baht. There's also   an Airport Bus which goes from the airport
to Phuket Town and this also costs 100 baht. Tuk Tuks are very common on the island. Also you
can rent a car for as little as 650 THB a day   or a motorcycle for 250 baht a day. The blue bus
otherwise known as the Songthaew is very popular   in Phuket and that can take you from Phuket
Town to one of the many beaches. These buses   usually cost between 30 and 50 THB.

It's
a fun experience and it gives you that local feel. Whether you're planning to visit Phuket for a
few days or a few weeks there's plenty for you   to do and to keep you entertained. Let us know
