Lightweights Benoit Saint Denis and Renato Moicano have agreed to meet at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Paris scheduled on Sept. 28 at the Accor Arena.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Friday, with both athletes verbally agreeing to the matchup. AG Fight initially reported the news.
Moicano travels into enemy territory as he seeks his fourth win in a row. The former featherweight picked up impressive victories over Brad Riddell and Drew Dober before a comeback victory to stop Jalin Turner at UFC 300.
Now he’ll look to take out one of the top prospects in the division, with Saint Denis making his first appearance since a barnburner against Dustin Poirier at UFC 299.
While he ultimately suffered a knockout loss that night, Saint Denis still managed to raise his stock with the performance, giving the former interim lightweight champion everything Poirier could handle in UFC 299’s Fight of the Night.
The fight against Moicano gives Saint Denis the chance to go home again after he scored a separate Fight of the Night bonus for his win over Thiago Moises at the previous UFC Paris card in 2023.
It is unclear at this time whether the bout will serve as the headliner for the event, and with UFC Paris scheduled for September, more fights should be announced in the coming weeks.
