Arman Tsarukyan is officially a UFC title contender.
The 27-year-old lightweight made a thunderous statement at UFC Austin, stopping Beneil Dariush in just 64 seconds with a highlight-reel knockout in Saturday’s main event. Tsarukyan has now won eight of his past nine UFC appearances since giving Islam Makhachev a surprisingly tough fight as a 22-year-old in his short-notice UFC debut, and he appears to have all the makings of a future UFC champion.
