Yoenis Tellez delivers ‘Knockout of the Year’ contender on Jake Paul undercard

Yoenis Tellez just put himself on the map.

On Friday night, Tellez faced Livan Navarro in a WBA Continental Latin America Super Welterweight contest, and the 23-year-old Cuban delivered one of the best knockouts of the year on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Andre August at the Caribe Royal Hotel in Orlando, Fla.

After a competitive start to the bout, Tellez took control of the action in the third round when he dropped Navarro with a series of nasty right hooks, and then he nearly did so again before the bell ended the round.

From that point on, Tellez had the run of play and looked well on his way to winning a decision, until he took the judges out of the equation when he obliterated Navarro with a perfect uppercut that sent Navarro crashing the the canvas out cold. The knockout was so vicious that Navarro stayed down for several minutes afterward.
