tonight's clock brought to you by halo reach and xbox 360.
Green trunks for mitchell black
trunks for wall burger nice light kick very nice and mitchell's got a grab on him look at this drops down for kimora very impressed so far with
tj good shots from the top mitchell working his guard
looking for some submissions this pro texas crowd look out for the leg
mitchell's going to try to get that heel hook going after an early joe both men both men stuck
in a position they're both going after techniques mitchell pushing down on that foot looking for a toe hold here mike not
exactly sure what he's trying to do but he's he's caught a toehold himself this
is an interesting little game of footsie these guys are playing mitchell is setting up dave
terrell is uh very well known for his leg locks and mitchell appears to be
trying to set one up as well this is a weird situation because they're
both attacking but they both have to defend at the same time and they continue to battle from
this position joe yeah mitch is trying to tie that leg down and he's trying to turn into a heel
hook and he's he got rolled down but he's still there he goes a little chest match early and
tj looking to pass here lands a nice elbow wall burger with some shots from the top
here in round one mitchell's going to try to work for an omaplata mike or perhaps a gogo
plaza if he can contain that arm and he cannot and wahlburger on top towards south and spinning he's got his back he's got one hit he's got that's very tight mitchell trying to
defend very nice very nice defense so mitchell gets out of trouble here and you
know what that was some sweet technique by wahlburger the way he spun on that arm well we
said they were mere images of each other and man what a chess match with
the submission game earlier mitchell again working for that alma plata he
pulls it across he's not hugging the leg though and that's why that arm can get out go go to
though now tj's in trouble that foot under his neck he's in trouble now he's out very nicely done
good defense and awareness by t.j wahlberger and both men going after multiple submission attempts
here in the first round back up to his feet pace set by wallburger here in
round one mitchell's been able to match it he's gonna drag him down there he goes ball burger very close to him look at this weird thing he's doing here he's got up side control
he's holding on the arm and he let it go what he was trying to do there was he was committing
today triangle man they are just exchanging unbelievable positions back and forth and you
gotta turn to noma plaza omaplata he's got that mitchell's going to try to stay on top of him here
oh rolled over very nicely done and mitchell in this position is going to try to lock up an
arm or something as tj comes down to engage a big shot there joe this has been a round of
constant transitions and submission attempts yeah uh but tj seems to be
getting the better of it tj's landed strikes like that from the
top yeah he's landed the better strikes came back in quickly and he had a very close
near armbar as well damn another big shot mitchell pushes him away for now 30 seconds
this is a grueling first round for a debut mike good knee from mitchell he's gonna try to drop him again the same
way he did the first he rolls over go to late gave up position though mounts elbows
big one round's gonna come to conclusion let's take a look at this kimura sweep that tj
landed look at that went for the kimura used it to sweep wound up on top landed some big ground
and pound this is the end of the round or excuse me no this is where he went for the arm bar went
from the back beautiful transition to the arm bar and it was a very tight armbar right wall burger
in the black trunks mitchell and the green trucks both ben making their ufc
debut mitchell unbeaten 11-0 mitchell on top mitchell was ready
joe mitchell looking for a guilty mike lost it he's trying to go for a kimura
on the left arm as wahlburger tries to sweep he's going to try to grab that come on
see how his arm is laced underneath it he's still going for that kimura but wahlburger
very aware stays on top keeps his arm tight to his body to defend puts his arm down his
leg down rather on the arm of mitchell and he's out of it he would would be able to turn
that into an armbar mike what what what is an over committed kimura becomes a deep armbar
a deep hook for an armbar for your opponent mitchell knows that his arm's in jeopardy and
that's one of the reasons why he was locking his legs around the head of wall burger wallburger
just 22 years old mitchell with a good upkick and working from the bottom good
hammer fist from the bottom by mitchell just keeping them honest those are serious hammer
fists from the bottom he's attacking the leg again he's got to be careful of his own leg trapped
there and you know keeps weight on it for defense and he used it to drop him down and then tj
still on the bottom tj didn't really explode out of that position mike perhaps slowing
down a bit because of the pace of this fight tj came out at a really high pace joe and
mitchell just slid the leg through there he's got to be careful he doesn't get rolled
over and he doesn't grab the choice he was off balance there mike it was pretty obvious
mitchell seeing if he can set up a submission well mitchell's on the bottom here mike inside
control really nothing nothing he's got there wahlburger though as he's going for this he's
got the von fluchok he's trying to get his head out here mitchell's holding onto his head i'm kind
of surprised that he's he's keeping this position mitchell goes over and wahlburger
will go for the arm that left arm of mitchell he's going to go for it mike
and there he goes spiderman oh he's dead mitchell knows his stuff man
mitchell knows his defense and he's uh using it to wind up on
top he's punching him in the butt whatever works i've never seen that before the
crowd did not like it it was not an illegal technique he wasn't going for the groin just
trying to soften him up and get in a better position he's going to use that to sweep him
again you know mitchell again going for legs mitchell very comfortable on his back yes he is
and he's very comfortable going for leg locks mike up kick oh big right hand mitchell going
underneath is going to again try to track the leg he's got to be very careful uh
wahlburger does have that left leg the corner of t.j wallburger
look at this this is a tangle very evenly matched like we anticipated
coming in again attacking legs this is this is the second or third time we've
seen both of these guys in this position kind of a 50-50 guard here joe
oh look at that that's not legal can't go to the head but still they continue to
battle in this position how does one man get an advantage when they're going back and forth like
this well they have to get the leverage and lock on their submission right now wahlberg was in
the best spot and they let it go he had a good straight ankle lock position that he could have
possibly turned into a heel hook mitchell got back up but wahlburger immediately turned it around and
he's on top again wahlburger is the one who seems to be able to control the positions better mike
and seems to be able to reverse position better big shot by tj and he's opened up a bit round two time getting a very close submission
attempt he will go for things mike he doesn't just try to hold position he's attacking
and here he attacks the left arm of mitchell second vote he's still with me 11-0 wasn't able
to finish it last round pretty close round well the impressive part of both of these men in
there you have continued to push the pace a lot of it's been on the ground but as you
said joe they're looking for constant finishes this has been the difference though is tj's
ability to control where the fight ends up and reverse it if he gets into a bad spot
mitchell has uh not really shown that abilities and again north south side control he's had
the mount a couple of times let's see now now that they're in the third round he's won
the first two rounds probably most likely now that they're in the third let's see if he
decides to control the position more and just just wear on him instead of constantly
attacking for submissions and losing positions he took his back and he protected
the arm at the same time mike he trapped that left arm looking to finish
he's got the rear naked while burger wants this he doesn't have it correct though he's
got to get that right arm behind the head mitchell with the punch trying to fight
through this choking is very experienced mike wahlberg is going to have to get that
right hand behind the head to really get him he's trying to sneak that hand behind the
head it's hard with these gloves and he let it go nicely done david mitchell and notice how
when he knew he was gonna have to let it go he transitioned right away in a full mount avoiding
mitchell spinning and winding up in his guard oh big shot for cj he's displayed some vicious ground
in power he's giving up his back again mitchell with that cut on the bridge of the nose joe and
it's really opened up here in the third round 315 now remains in the fight but david mitchell's in a tough
spot mike and he's doing it again he goes to that arm bar and as he goes for it he
traps the arm see how he's doing that with his left leg a la bj pen bj loves that technique traps
the arm and only gives him one to defend against and mitchell's sneaking out and
mitchell's attacking a leg again mitchell's gone after that leg continuously
yeah he's going for a toe hold here wahlburger seems unaffected and he's
going to better his position again mitchell's taking some big deep breaths mike he is
exhausted oh and tj's bombing huge elbows and the oh my goodness this this might be it this might
be a tj's getting tj's really getting off here another big shot and he takes him down as well
mitchell still hanging in yeah credit to mitchell for his heart because tj's hit him with some
big shots in this round and he's still fighting mitchell still throwing those
hammer fists from the bottom what a pace this fight has been
fought at and it started exactly as it's going right now joe with waldberger and
mitchell back and forth wallburger throwing big ground in pound but mitchell like you
said continues to try to work from the bottom now he's never given up but he has
not come close to catching anything yet another kick 90 seconds remaining mitchell takes a chance and tries
to get to his feet but wahlburger immediately jumps on top of him he's pushing
down that leg looking to pass and does and again that arm bar he wants to go for that
arm bar on that left arm of mitchell as mitchell commits to the kimura when you commit to kimura
we saw it in jordan pierre versus matt hughes the first fight george st pierre went for kimura
committed to it matt hughes used that position to reverse it and get an armbar on him under a minute on the clock third
and final classic counter move and uh wahlburger loves it apparently
again on top passes side control trying to secure a win in his ufc debut t.j
wahlberg man again he's had the full mount three four times joe you know what i like about
this kid too he doesn't just have the mount he's looking to finish he's always looking there get an
armbar get a submission pound him out he doesn't just try to hold on he's got the leg across the
body which means we believe he's gonna go for the body triangle now ten seconds full mount again
again he's gonna finish with ground and pound boy he's fitting strong mike fantastic final round for
tj wallburger what a debut the official decision all three judges score this contest 30-27
declaring the winner by unanimous decision tj thirty-three-year-old antonino six years the
elder of the brazilian natal will have a five inch reach advantage with the introductions
bruce buffer ladies and gentlemen this fight is three rounds in the ufc middleweight division
introducing first fighting out of the blue corner a jiu jitsu fighter holding a professional
record of 12 wins two losses standing six feet tall weighing in at 186 pounds fighting
it up new york new york rafael natale and now introducing his opponent fighting
out of the red corner a mixed martial artist holding a professional record eight wins
three losses standing five feet 10 inches tall weighing in at 185 pounds fighting out
of coconut creek florida rich the raging and when the action begins our referee in charge
of the octagon is carrie patlin carrie hatley our referee for this fight at 185 the beautiful
shondella mariani frank irwin center austin texas all right gentlemen you ready to go you ready
to go let's go to work come on tonight's clock brought to you by halo reach an xbox 360 at denito
in the white trunks natal in the black trunks luther over and over again attempted to take
natal down in his fight with him and had a really hard time with him the towel has some excellent
take down defense and his very physically strong lead left both men have put together a couple of
wins three straight wins for atonito there was a nice leg kick there by
natalie good tip to keep his opponent away and again antonito seems to be having a bit of trouble
finding his range mike they're tall using the teeth the front kick joe is kind of a jab to keep
the distance of that tonito yeah well the fact that he's throwing more kicks tonito seems to be
sticking with punches he's got a distance problem came very close to the right hand there though another one on the thigh antonido
just does not seem to be throwing kicks he may have a problem with his
left ankle you see it's all taped up and that may be one of the reasons why we're not
seeing him throw kids and a reach advantage for the tall coming in so he's trying to stay
outside of the range of his opponent right hand trying to set up the left and the jab see if he looks to start to put
some combinations together joe very aggressive is guitar here
early dictating the striking antonito has excellent takedowns but that could
work right into the dolls the tallest game that's the striking battle early
switch of stance swinging amiss probably doesn't mind keeping up and banging
here against the brazilian jiu jitsu black belt i just think he needs to close the distance
especially since he's primarily except for one shot throwing his hands and he throws another
kick he seems to be throwing the kicks only with the left and you know obviously
he's just speculating that because of that injury he may have a hard time pivoting
well there he goes through one with the right getting up on that front toe becomes ever
so difficult if that ankle's jacked up right yeah well i i just think just to be a little
bit more unpredictable he's got to mix the techniques up more yeah he's definitely trying to
get inside and the tall won't let him oh big shot looking to finish his fight he's all the
over back to his feet very impressive but he's hurt he's still wobbly joe
antonino looking for the finish he found his range here yeah he just
needed that one shot he changed everything and now he's the aggressor the
top is still hurt though mike gonna be very careful that he doesn't run
into anything now being overly aggressive either he's hurt and he's slowed down considerably good job regaining half guard by antonino good
job recovering by the brazilian he got rocked on the right arm of that tonito trying
to establish wrist control antonino is going to roll him over or at least try
10 seconds left in the round full guard matt dino does a good job getting back to guard landed in that fight there it is he hit him
with one right hand and then a follow-up here it is boom right on the jaw you see
the legs give out natal was very badly hurt great first round anthony waited all the first
round joe to try to slip and get a shot and he did now let's see how natal reacts
here after he's been tagged as they both go south paul start at
round two at tonito switches back again using those long legs just like his jab antonino's trying to duck under
again and connect with that right the top connected on him there mike straight he's thrown a lot of those left
kicks to the forearm of battinito yeah that could take a lot
out of the punching power and you know we've seen many times guys get broken
forearms from that gabriel gonzalo randy couture ridge franklin chuckled out and it
was rich who fought through it yeah good start here in round two after
getting rocked in round one for natal tried to time antonido and almost dead kick he's getting a lot of
power behind those kicks mike and it's the left and he switches stances back
and forth depending on whether or not he wants to throw the switch over to throw the back leg there's that wrestling sport he's
got a it's a really telegraph shot you're not going to get antonio with that he just
got the hips out of the way both times didn't he yeah he is shot he's not committing to it and
it's slow and it's telegraphy oh uppercut antonito trying to find a spot inside again he's eating that kick trying to land those
punches well the one that he really ate was the one to the ribs and now he goes
inside leg kick he's mixing it up nicely plenty of time to work halfway into the round
let's see what natal can do on the ground and this time he's not dazed the first time he
got him down he was still tough suffering from the effects the big right hand antonita landed
on him and he's got plenty of time to work as well we just got him tied up though he's got
a nice overhook there controlling the head and gets it again nice and wrapped up not
really allowing them to land anything big yet just get busy man get busy improve on the way up he really does like throwing
that left leg right no question and i mean you can see it coming by where
he positions his legs and antonido hasn't tried to counter those kicks with a takedown of
his own a lot of times the kicks i don't think he's susceptible but he didn't want to be there
exactly so it neutralizes that wrestling advantage it's a beautiful thing for natal because he
doesn't have to worry about throwing those kicks and he has thrown them with reckless abandon just the threat of that strong jiu jitsu game keeps your opponent honest that's really looking
for a big shot he's whipping that right hand to the body that's the one shot he's looking for
though joe and the tall's mixing it up he's shrugging that takedown off so easy a good second round for the brazilian after being
rocked in round one final 15 seconds of round two antonito might have cursed himself
with his success in the first round hurting him so badly he seems
like he's kind of head hunting now not listening to howard davis
jr and throwing the jab as much good job happy on the top making his ufc debut
good battle for 10 minutes at the needle's corner again telling him to establish the jab
use the one two don't worry about the awkward unorthodox style of your opponent go to your
game plan and make him pay yeah they really want him to put the pressure on the town this round
they believe he's tied up now one round a piece to the ribs so he's delivered
it to both sides of the body and he's switching it up now and
kicking with the right leg as well missed again big takedown attempt there by natal antonito talked in his corner about just
trying to get comfortable with the timing and the reach advantage in at all and so
it's it's puzzling him and it continues to that he ducked under and delivered
the right hand in round one too my opinion rich has got to
mix it up a bit too i mean he hasn't really been throwing very many kicks at all and again joey you mentioned earlier
if there's no threat of the takedown which he hasn't shown any that
makes the tall much more versatile it's changed let's see what
kind of guard natal has here postures up brazilian jiu jitsu black belt on the tall seven
career wins by submission three by knockout let's see what kind of guard he has so
far not really doing much off his back there's a shot that landed it's an interesting thing about brazilian jiu
jitsu mike when it relates to mixed martial arts the guard a very powerful guard
is one of the rarest things even amongst jiu jitsu black
belts many many of them you see he's getting tagged here antonino just
landed a big shot there from half guard and the tall closes well antonino's gotta
think he's on top here if he can maintain this position and land some damaging
shots you should be able to win this round if you won the first round this
should be the fight big shot right there but you know as i said look at the tallest guard
he's not really doing anything off his back let's improve man let's improve and a lot of
it is because a lot of these guys they start out their brazilian jiu jitsu careers with
the geek and they get used to attacking and fighting with the ghee and you know natal's
a big guy so he probably likes to be on top and doesn't you know doesn't fight
off his back on purpose that much waited to take this fight down to the
ground until the third round but he's had he's had good effectiveness and control in this
position joe yeah will natalie's not threatening you know he's not doing anything he's just hanging
on he's controlling the posture a bit and he keeps his guard closed but no there's no threat
for which rich is throwing arms out there and leaving him on the ground and you know he's not
worried about anything final minute of this fight the town's trying to extend
that arm of antonito but when you're this slippery very
difficult to get that arm bar trying to stay busy he has not been able to establish wrist
control which i'm sure he would like to do and if he can do that he's got this round the
towel realizes he's got to win this round back and to do something big right now could
be the difference in this fight for him 10 seconds on the clock oh another bim again
slipped through got a big right hand to land this fight has gone the distance
the judges scored this contest 29 28 29 28 and 30 27 for the winner by
unanimous decision rich the raging bull congratulations to richard denito introducing
first fighting out of the blue corner a mixed martial artist holding a professional record six
wins one loss standing six feet one inch tall weighing in at 186 pounds fighting
out of brooklyn new york david branch and now introducing his opponent
fighting out of the red corner a mixed martial artist holding a professional
record 17 wins three losses standing six feet tall weighing in at 185 and one half pound
fighting out of krakow poland jumbos gorilla the veteran herb dean our referee tomas travolta against david
branch ready to fight ready tonight's clock is brought to you by halo reach
and xbox 360.
Branch in the red trunks black trunks for thomas straval on paper it would look
that branch has the better striking and the better submissions branch is very smooth on his feet
really showed some excellent striking against gerald harris just was not able to deal with
gerald harris's wrestling draval is not the same kind of wrestler he's not the same kind of striker
but he's got big power and tremendous heart sixth ufc fight for tomas travol branch moving around the outside looks
to catch a leg he does and this is what branch wants nice and early
in the fight when both guys are dry no one's slippery branch moves in the
half guard and he will pass very quickly three-time pan-american champion david branch
look at this draval setting up a triangle if trevor can get his left leg across the
top there look at this he's trying like he's very close to a triangle dave branch is
recognizing that and pinning down is right she's keeping keeping the weight pressed
on the right butterfly of tomas javal but if trevor can sneak that leg out
somehow that would be a huge upset still wants it yeah yeah trying very
hard dave branch recognizing it though flowing down on the back of the head trying
to control branch and now branches out well that's where the brazilian jiu jitsu
experience of david branch comes into play early he's having a bit of a hard time passing here
though he's able to come real close a few times getting the half guard but javale just hip escapes
and pushes him right back in jabal obviously aware of the judicial skills of branch and has been
training very hard in that aspect of his game now that's been one of the things joe that
you and i have witnessed over the years is how much more well-rounded the modern
day mixed martial artist is because if you don't have skills in all the disciplines
you're probably not going to survive very long yeah there's no room for anybody with
holes in their game at this point still branch lands some ground and pound unable
to pass though it's kind of shocking branch just some shots to the midsection
trying to soften up his opponent see if he fakes and goes
for a big shot to the head slides his knee through again well look derval
immediately gets that right knee up in place again and the best dave branch has been able
to do is just get here to half guard and javal doesn't stay satisfied with
this position hip escapes again and pushes him back to full guard again
i mean that's what he's been doing good control of his opponent who's
in the top position there he goes gets that knee up again and branch is fighting it
so javale is uh showing good defense on the ground showing good guard recovery branch
unable to get a dominant position on him over the last few years training with
dean lister on his brazilian jiu jitsu brazilian jiu jitsu black belt lister ufc veteran francis can't get that leg free still over a
minute remains here in round number one fight schedule for three five minute rounds if traval
continues to hold on to that guillotine if branch can get free there's a there's a choke from that
position but france is able to get the head free branch is working to get some distance and
look at this travol neutralizes him enough to force the stand up big deep breath by tomas
travolta yeah and he turned his back there travol pushes forward and clinches javale knows
that if he can get a takedown to land some ground and pound here he could perhaps neutralize
the advantage that branch had in the round branch did get him down but wasn't
able to do anything in that position if dravall can get him down he could
uh you know atlanta come oh big knee and pushes forward with the right leg caught
him on the knee at the end of that clinch final seconds of the round looks like he was going to
set up the superman punch branch with the knee late in round
one working out of the clinch see if branch opens it up a little bit here branch shoots for the takedown doesn't
really fully commit to it though stuffs it traval is physically strong we've
seen that before very very powerful guy initially fought at 205 stopped by thiago silva
in his debut in a really back and forth war fantastic fight this is definitely a
better weight class for him but he is very strong this weight class because of
his experience at a higher weight class and because the fact that he's just just a bull of
a man started martial arts training at age nine did the native poland had a 13-fight win streak
early in his career joe 17-3 overall trying to fight off the takedown of branch here branch
is uh very low on him now this is bad for jabal and he got him down now what
will he do from here before in round one as you mentioned joe javal did a
pretty good job of neutralizing it well john donahue was giving him some pointers in the corner
about passing about battling for under hooks and telling him that an underhook on
either side will be adequate for him but just trying to give him some pointers
on how to get past the guard of thomas jamal he's keeping weight on him here he's got to be careful though when he was in the half guard in in the last
round he was stood back up oh now he's in trouble now he's got the back a lot
of time to work java recognizing this and trying to keep a base trying to shake branch off the top
branch is high here this is not good for branch he's too high on the shoulders mike and what
he's going to try to do is shift his hip backward jabal is going to try to shake
him he wants to shake him and shake him off still work very difficult to for branch to move
backwards he's got to get his hips backwards towards draval's hips if his if draval can
shake him forward now branch is in a better spot he can get his leverage better and now
he's out and immediately in pursuit was trevor did not let that scramble last very long
that was an awesome opportunity for branch but he was unable to capitalize on it
and that's what shows you the technical aspect of the ground game it was just simply
a position of him being too high on the back trying to get low on those legs again just over two minutes will remain
here in round two i guarantee we can't that's what cost him in the gerald harris
fight he was slammed under his head we'll never do that again
herb dean keeps him moving at this point jamal's got to be thinking
what do i have to do in this fight he's had virtually no success in the stand up no success
in the ground except being able to survive knockout power very heavy-handed yeah with his
punches and with his knees and kicks as well knocked out says the levitz with a brutal knee yo yeah no doubt about that gonna take a look at the eye of thomas
travol herb dean is gonna bring in the doctor so the fight continues you're swinging with a little
more intention is trevor dave branch is really going to work on those
takedowns mike you know he's missing the driving double that you see from a chael sonnen or
josh koscheck or even a george st pierre he's uh you know he's got to really work
on that aspect of his game he gets a hold of the guys and make it they can shut him
off too easily and he's being able to take proval down but traval's got it figured
out now it's making it much harder for him switches up his stance here joe
and he tries to lead with the left clock ticking down on round two again swinging with the combination revolver since that short stop has tried to turn up
the pace he got caught there as you mentioned traval turned it up opened it up a little
bit more at the end of that second round branch takes the center of the octagon
quickly here to start round three and again nothing there telegraphs that and
doesn't commit to it you know oh they both connect branch uses those strikes to close the
distance branch seems very aware of the power of javan mike you notice that in
the stand up he does not want to get hit now you mentioned the cessna punch and
we've seen it from tomas travail before and again draval manages to get full guard in the
takedown been the most surprising aspect of the fight is that dave branch has been unable to get
a dominant position even once i mean he had the back but even when he had the back it really
wasn't the right spot he was too high on it good control again of his opponent's posture
for now and in the scramble draval gets back to guard again i mean branch is definitely trying
to get past all this but javal's doing a really good job of getting those knees up hip escaping
and keeping himself safe on the bottom traval has not gone the distance in a fight since oh
four so over three minutes remains in this fight now javale looking to take branch
down see if he can work from top position before this thing is over
he's got a good body lock on him here branch pushing away from the fence and now he
pushes revolve back against the cage right away let's go i'm gonna break this you need to work
watch those knees taking a look up at the clock branch is winning every round
which makes you think that traval is gonna look for a big heavy hand here switches his stance up see if he throws that
straight left again he looked forward earlier one of the things that john donahue
was telling dave branch in between rounds do not stand in front of him
for more than four seconds at a time he wants him to keep moving he wants him
to keep getting angles keep him guessing again putting the pressure on his
opponent here under two minutes left but again branch is able to control and
get through ball up against the cage he's going to try to break down the legs here you
know as we said he's got to be ahead on points but it's worth not really coming close to
finishing this fight that's for sure his work looking for his first ufc victory is branch and jabal would love nothing more
than to pull it out in the last minute we're just about at that time
jamal stalking him now branch is dancing around trying to use that four
second rule that you talked about joe that take down by branch is
so half-hearted you know he just kind of gets halfway into it and stops there it was branch who landed a knee earlier 30 seconds it's worth a month and now less well you know this is i mean if branch
pulls off this win it's a good win for him it's you know it's a name opponent but it's
certainly not that impressive and it's not what people want to see you know he's not trying to
finish this fight not taking any big chances the judges scored this contest 30 27 on all
cards declaring the winner by unanimous decision david unanimous decision victory for david branch
both men are 28 years old kingsbury one inch taller they will have a four inch reach advantage
once again with the introductions bruce buffer ladies and gentlemen this fight is three rounds in
the ufc a light heavyweight division introducing first fighting out of the blue corner this
man is a mixed martial artist holding a professional record of eight wins two losses one
no contest standing six feet four is just tall weighing in at 206 pounds fighting out of san
jose california kyle kingsborough kingsbury and now introducing his opponent fighting
out of the red corner a mixed martial artist holding a professional record 12 wins two
losses standing six feet three inches tall weighing in at 205 pounds fighting out of
el segundo california jared the messenger and when the action begins
our referee in charge of the octagon is john shorley john shortly our referee the beautiful shondela ariani ready
son ready irwin center austin texas and we are underway tonight's clock brought to you
by halo reach and xbox 360.
Right after it they go kingsbury immediately grabs
a leg and he's got him down in the top position he is in the black
trunks jared hammond in the white trunks hammond trying to get right back up
kingsbury trying to turn the corner and take his back here they couldn't
do that now he's got the lock again got him down hammond using that cage
trying to get back up to his feet again very nicely done and shrugs them off kingsbury very hard worker good attitude
they say aka trying to extend his reach they're both throwing early that caught him over the top with the
right hand jerry hammond he's looking for that right hand over and over again mike
that chuck liddell style overhand right hammond knocked out ufc veteran travis view
back in 2007.
Eight of his 12 wins have come by knockout or tko jared hammond also fighting out of
california el segundo home now look for the knee kingsbury faced off against some of the best
from season eight to the ultimate fight orion bader kristoff soschinski good experience
early in his mixed martial arts career and again he's going over the top he tried to throw him there mike and it
just didn't time it right but good job getting the full guard here see what kingsbury can
do from this position joe if he even stays here hammond back to his feet again kingsbury
feels comfortable in this battle of striking use your reach the corner of kingsbury
they meet with those kicks again let's see if all of a sudden kingsbury is
timing that right spinning back fist hammond trying to mix it up and he gets taken down
left eye is bloodied up of jared hammond hammers have been able to get back up to his feet over and
over again though mike which is pretty impressive kingsbury holding him down here trying to keep it from happening again well hammond overcame some adversity
in that battle against rodney wallace kingsbury may be cut as well punches first and then the kick there you go and looks to close in on
another potential takedown kingsbury with the knee kingsbury is powerful spinning around again is happening hammond's gone after some things here in round one some kyle kingsbury fans in attendance tonight that is the weirdest nickname of
all time i would agree with that they continue to go toe to toe they finished the end of round
one just teeing off on each other to the body with that kick good body
kick there good penetration there hammond looks for the midsection hammond's really throwing that spinning
back fist and also the follow through a moment ago with a backhand looking to catch
his opponent with something stopped big time the jab as you showed on the replay joe
was effective in round one for kingsbury kingsbury appears to be loading up a bit more
whereas hammond is kind of letting things flow a little freer a little looser the the stiff and
stiffened stance and the you know kingsborough is really trying to make everything count you know
seems to throw these punches is really putting a lot of muscle behind him whereas jared hammond's
kind of loose and just throwing technique looks much more relaxed and if you tense up
too much and continue to throw like oh you can adversely affect your cardio yes you
can good shot there though by kingsbury it's a powerful dude they're holding your breath
on every punch joe and all of a sudden the gas tank gets empty quickly although
we haven't seen that yet from kyle well he's obviously in tremendous condition
but it does wear on you good kick to the body and oftentimes that fluid approach can
provide as much power as that stiffened up tense approach yes you can yeah into the powers
and the technique with the bones and leverage nailed him he's trying he's been looking to finish
his fight kingsbury's really being aggressive here mike he's stalking him hammond swinging but the problem is we're
not even halfway through to this round how long can he keep his base up and when
he slows down with jared hammond turn it on jared hammond his face is bruised up already and
he just keeps coming forward he's a tough two he's very tough dude he looks like a mailman yes he
does he is the messenger again with the one-two i think jared hamm is starting to sense
that kingsbury's slowing down a bit and that may be a result of exactly what
you talked about joe all that effort he put forth and jared hammond's still there you know oh
uppercut but he was met with a return on the chin kingsbury really extending his reach nicely turning into those punches got caught with a right
on the guy down by hammond then again they go wow this is crazy this is all
good all good over the top this would give him a little
break here too 90 seconds staying on top here if he
control the arms of hammond hammond not letting them rest hammock thrown
up a triangle pushes him up very nicely done and right after him man he wanted
to pounce on that opportunity joe kingsbury again still a minute to go well
kingsbury trains with all those great wrestlers at aka including the top heavyweight contender kane
velasquez back up again phil davis ncaa champion daniel cormier the olympian is there now and then
of course cost check and company at 170 fitch jared hammond back to the feet again trying to take advantage of the slip wow what a pace for jared hamilton he's
just swarming on kingsbury here 20 seconds hammond will not go away he's an
animal i love it just keeps on coming that was an awesome round too oh he tapped him tried to finish the fight but was unable to i
mean jared hammond is just so tough and here i mean look at the shots he's taken and now
hammond at the end of the round was coming after kingsbury tagged him a couple of times
vladimir met yushenko said to jared hammond he's thrown everything he can at you and you're
not going away it's your time let's win this round let's win this fight and he starts out in
good style nice right hand right out of the bat hammond wants another fight of the night i think
he might have to i mean oh he nailed him again kingsbury with the right hand it sneaks in watch for a potential kick from hammond there it i would like to see more of those from him that
was a very nicely done leg kick there body kick open it up and mix it up joe yeah again that
could really be the key in this fight mike he's been taken down but hammond gets right back
up and a lot of times from here he punishes him yeah i mean also you know that's a incredible
expenditure of energy and no reward for it tried to throw the elbow on the exit i
mean if you looked at these two guys if you didn't know anything about martial
arts okay he's going to win this fight no contest whatsoever right kingsbury is a
beast but look hammond's nailing mouthpiece yeah he's not the time to do
the queens and mouthpiece he's he's proven that to us over and over put that
thing right back in his mouth five-second rule kingsbury just kind of looking
to hold on at this point mike i expended a lot of energy throwing those heavy
punches early in the fight if i was in jared's corner i'd be screaming for more leg kicks
because i think those really hurt kingsbury trying to shrug this one off again
he's got him up against the cage i think he's been able to take him down but
completely ineffective when he's done so and here's hammond stops it now he stops it gets
both under hooks and he's looking to take kids let's see if he throws the
leg kick you talked about here thought about it both men exhausted
hammond's hands are still in a good spot must be wondering to a certain degree what is that's just that's just
exhaustion the mount is wide open trying to keep his breath going the
best he can with under two minutes left he landed a good right hand there
mike trying to lead left-handed pouring it on here a minute and a half
to go let's see what he can get done hammond looking for a little slip and rip a moment
ago good shot to the body joe that caught him and you see kingsbury has gotten it
out mike but he slowed considerably and his punches that mouthpiece has just
gotten really dirty they continue body kittens as the clock starts again wow you know i guess these are good
for points but the reality is he's not really doing anything with
it and every time hammond gets right back up and every time hammond throws
those hammer fists and look at this looks up at the clock nicely done fights it off stops it watch for a
knee he's got to throw some kicks final 10 seconds trying to finish with the
flurry hammond the aggressor oh he got caught and the mouthpiece is hot again what a fight what a fight outstanding the official
decision is coming up next in theaters october 15th and the mouthpiece of jared hammond you know
someone call the fight dentist dennis and hook this dude up with a good one because uh that
thing's flying out of his mouth over and over again kyle kingsbury landed some real good shots
in this fight but at the end he was fading and that's when all three judges scored this contest
29-28 declaring the winner by unanimous decision kyle kingsborough kingsbury well there is your
answer joe kyle kingsbury with the win with the official introductions here is bruce buffer ladies
and gentlemen this fight is three rounds in the ufc a lightweight division introducing first
fighting out of the blue corner this man is a freestyle fighter holding a professional record
23 wins seven losses standing five feet nine is just tall weighing in at 156 pounds fighting
out of las vegas nevada john guns gundersson and now introducing his opponent
fighting out of the red corner this man is the jitsu fighter holding a
professional record 38 wins 16 losses one draw standing five feet nine inches tall weighing
in at 155 pounds fighting out of austin texas and when the action begins our referee in
charge is kelly hatley carrie hatley our referee hi gentlemen here we go you ready john gunderson
edwards big return for edwards tonight's clock brought to you by halo reach and xbox 360.
Red
trunks for the southpaw black trunks for gunderson extremely dangerous striker is edwards good body gunderson born in houston trained out
of houston many years that edwards and he's fought some of the best looking for that head kick he showed it a couple of times too joe 14 wins by knockout 16 by submission for edwards
and gunderson continues to try to push the pace and he looks for his own head kick oh edwards connects he just comes at him harder
working very hard for that take down there gunderson has never been finished and
that's something that edwards talked respects the toughness of his opponent john
gunderson no time to rest no time to take down defense there by eve 31st professional
fight for gundersen here tonight in austin on the right arm of eve edwards notice how he's
dropping down there mike controlling that arm he's got to be very careful and eve is going to
use it to try to take the back now gundersen's got to be very careful because if he doesn't have
this arm he has nothing gunnis is still hanging on to it though trying to crank on that arm edwards
tried to get a hook in but he was spun out of that position yeah this is a tricky little chess game
they go got going on right now because also as gunderson attacks this arm he leaves himself open
for an arm bar the counter to the deep kimura is the arm bar the far side arm bar so if you see
eve's left leg get free gun is recognizing that and locks down the uh he's got the half guard here
and he's trying to pull that that arm out of eve edwards very confident is kimura obviously
because he's not letting go this position he's throwing his leg over now now this is a
little bit more difficult for eve he's got to be ultra careful here gunderson can yank that arm
out and pull it up especially with that leg there yeah he obviously has a good kimura
because he's still working on this he's got to yank it up and out 15 career
wins by submission 15 of 23 for gundersen he's gonna get mounted though if he's
not careful and then it'll be gone and edwards is unable to get free okay let's
improve well he's got a good lock on it what's the referee talking about improved they're fighting
dude all right now there he goes he held on to it for a long time though yeah that was well
over a minute right yep now let's see what's up transitioning himself who lost it trying to get them out he used it to get to the mount though yeah he recognized that
little crucial opening there looking to land some ground in pounds
yeah and eve edwards has some nasty ground and pound now he's got the back got
him flattened out 20 seconds in the round first looking to stretch him out and try to
finish this now gundersen's in 10 seconds though it's a good place to finish if you're edwards but we're gonna be headed around too eve
edwards finishes round let's go to work come on with gundersen on his back and then on his
stomach and taking his back they start on the feet here in round two that was a great
first round for eve real confidence booster and his corner is calling out for the high
kick gunners to try to spinning back kick there his corner calling out for the high kick
they want him to follow up these punches he's looking to find an
opening here joe and he does trying to set it up with that jab you know
i thought it was interesting that uh sean tompkins who's you know one of the very best
muay thai trainers in the sport said that eve edwards didn't have any power you know i
don't know if he's trying to pump gunderson up but uh you know that that can get
you hurt with a guy like eve edwards he's got some power yeah plenty of power
watch that josh thompson fight you know josh thompson's toughest nails if you get head kick
ko josh thompson you're doing something right nicely done good change of levels eve seems
i mean gunnerson seems like he's got real good power but eve seems to be the more fluid
striker much more relaxed with his techniques trying to mix things up
here in round two is edwards can he avoid the takedown to complete the single now
grabbing for a second leg gunderson said he was hooked at a very young age
started boxing at age 16 grappling at age 21. don't grab the fans so you can get your hands
up it was the tito ortiz jerry bowlander fight which inspired gunderson to compete in mixed
martial arts and here he is tonight taking on fellow texan eve edwards you've
got double underhooks here see if eve tries to take him down
gunderson gets that one arm free just past the midway point of this fight
scheduled for three five-minute rounds slip right back up though gunderson wanted to complete that need edward's trying to out technique his
opponent here and as you said he's very fluid with his striking oh there's that power gundersen is just getting out technique
here mike it's a nice turning sidekick and that's the thing that people always talked
about with eaves when you said he was considered by many to be as good as any lightweight
in the world just so naturally talented yeah they're good straight left there nothing going eaves is happy to jump on top 38 wins for eve edwards a good second round in his
first ufc appearance since 06.
He keeps looking for that looping left hand the straight left and the looping left nice body
kick avoids the takedown again still trying to listen for the belt push in the
action the final seconds of this round here we go man good job five minutes left
gunderson edwards here we go let's go to work strong words by sean tompkins told gunderson he has to finish him he said
you have to knock him out edward's looking for it early joe hard to control as eve edwards he looks sharp and
smooth tonight mike good body kick a lot of fight left in this veteran he's still only 33 years
old it's hard to believe he's been around so long i mean the first time we saw
him in the octagon was in ufc 33 against none other than matt sarah yeah way back
in 0-1 you know so here he is nine years later he's closing in a lot too joe nice edwards jumps into half guard let's see
if he can get the mount he got it earlier trying to get that left leg free let's throw these guns controlling the arm holding onto that right
arm he's gonna try to get back up to his feet here good elbow yep continuing to tee off yeah he wants to soften
him up with these and then probably try to pass again trying to roll towards that kimura but uh eve's having none of that well he's
made the point earlier that gunderson had not been stopped in 30 professional
fights and gunderson still around here just under three left to set up a little
bit more ground in pound as edwards fighting out of austin texas good elbow gundersen's corner is calling for that right
underhook to try to stand back up but uh you know i think at this point in the fight he's is pretty
exhausted you're busy two minutes left under two edwards again with those short
elbows joe very nice elbows working out of the half guard of gunderson what's the back especially after that first
round he held onto it for so long eve edwards considers his art of fujitsu the
art of the beat down and that's exactly what he's attempting to do to gunderson here in
the final minutes of this fight knowing he's got a minute to go he's really pouring
it off he's trying to finish his fight under a minute he's got gunners in the bad
spot here if he could really pour it on these are big shots we're getting through impressive return to the octagon
for eve edwards 30 seconds looking for his seventh career ufc victory gunnison's not even trying to win at
this point he is covering up all right i mean he's got to know that he's in the
hole here he's got to do something explosive but was just a little bit too much for him at this
stage and a couple elbows to send a final message that i am back official decision coming up look at our fight
replay brought to you by the new action comedy red joe in theaters october 15th good kick there yeah
he caught him a bit off balance but it was a solid kick to the body though and you know really it was
this fight was all about eve edward's technique technique and standing technique on the
ground he looked crisp he looked focused he was in shape and uh this was an awesome
comeback for him great to see him back in the octagon all three judges scored this contest
30 27 declaring the winner by unanimous decision successful return to the octagon here tonight in
austin ultimate fighter winner ross pearson 25 years old cole miller is 26 years old miller will
have a four inch reach advantage to get us started here's bruce buffer introducing first fighting
out of the blue corner this man is a mixed martial artist holding a professional record 16
wins four losses standing six feet one inch tall weighing in at 156 pounds fighting out of
coconut creek for london cole margreen miller and now introducing his opponent
fighting out of the red corner this man is a mixed martial artist holding
a professional record 13 wins three losses 75 being 8 inches tall weighing in at
156 pounds fighting into sunderland england ladies and gentlemen he is the ultimate
fighter season nine winner ross the real herb dean our referee what a great crowd tonight
frank irwin center austin texas the beautiful shondella ariani great to be here ufc fight night
live ready good pierson and miller tonight's clock is brought to you by halo reach and xbox 360.
good kick early by the brit in the red trunks cole miller in the blue trumps reach advantage for miller yeah and striking advantage never seen these
two guys fight before oh very nice counter right hand by cole cole has an outstanding
ground game one of the you know really most exciting submission guys at 155 pulls off all
kinds of crazy stuff where's pearson solid striker real crisp technique how will he counter the reach
one of the big questions going into this matchup and he's using that reach right now two veterans
of the ultimate fighter and another connection calling for the same combination
that was just thrown a moment ago and there you see miller really trying to turn
into that long reach and if you've never fought a guy with that kind of reach advantage it
can be disconcerting it's it's confusing it messes up your timing and that's what miller
wants he's got the single roster very good balance very hard to take him down and when he gets down
he springs back up like a cat two very humble and talented young mixed martial artist both miller
and pearson miller does not want to let go of this he's got him down ross right back up like i
said miller does not want to let go of this clinch though he wants to keep a hold of him this
is where he feels like he's got an advantage if he can get this fight into a grappling contest
he talked a lot about finishing fights and miller really going after things early pearson
looking for an answer oh he's got a hold of him he's got to be careful doesn't get slammed here that just shows you this is what cole miller
wants the fact that he was willing to do that working the body on the exit was pearson miller
really aggressive here in round one with some good shots too good counter right hand mike he's landed
it several times taking the fight to ross pearson and his hands really look improved in this fight
so far got caught on the way in that time though that being said improved hands yes but do you
want to get into a striking matchup with ross pearson if you're miller well the more that time
goes on the more comfortable pearson will get and the better his timing will be what's important
to cole is that he mixes everything up take down everything he can't let pearson get comfortable
enough to stand in front of him and trade he wants to keep him guessing so he never
knows what's coming for pearson he wants this he wants a stand-up battle he's got great
head movement joe he's got great timing very nice jab though ducked under before through
the uppercut that time the jab the more time goes on the better he's gonna get at timing at figuring
out paul's movements predicting him and looking for a big shot and setting up traps for him seeing
how he responds to things faking him seeing how he responds and then capitalizing on those movements
next weekend we're in indianapolis for ufc 119 mir versus crow cop live only on pay-per-view
our coverage begins right here on spike ultimate fighter winner ryan bader and little nog on the
card as well that is going to be a sick fight ultimate fighter winner ross pearson starting
things off tonight immediately following our live fights right here on spike george st pierre's
team starts the battle with josh koscheck's team and then a great look at hoyce gracie good leg kick by miller and
a good response by pearson paul is really landing that
right hand counter very well but pearson is countering after the right hand kick was checked under 30
seconds left in round one miller came out very aggressively
and as you mentioned joe pearson has been able to find his range as the round has
continued yeah as time goes on he's getting a little more comfortable with the distance good
way to start things off here tonight on spike oh ufc president dana white has
had a great time here in austin he's on his twitter always twitter.com
dana white check it out tickets prizes a chance to sit next to him in a fight all
kinds of fun stuff and constant updates from ufc president dana white look at that sharp leg
kick by pierson in out and his foot goes back into perfect position yeah i mean that that is
what we described on his technique he's beautiful he's not a brawler he's an intelligent striker ever improving left hook to
the body and with that team in the uk team roughhouse he's surrounded
by some of the best in the business he's got another and if that turns out to be a theme that's
good for ross pearson and bad for cole miller well at least he got him to the
ground that's what he wanted to do see if he can do it again and it
definitely makes pearson think more as we said pierce is starting
to find that range mike they had a pretty intense stare
down at the weigh-ins yesterday and they've come out and matched
that intensity in the fight pearson was coached by michael bisping fellow
british ultimate fighter winner on the show you see that straight ride by miller look oh october 15.
Check it out he caught him
before look at that left hook his knees go he goes to the ground call tags him jumps on
him there's the right hand there's the left hook his knees give out cole jumps on him
sinks that choke right away secures it declaring the winner by tap out due
to a rear naked choke cole mongren miller miller 27 t-bile 26.
T-bow is taller
everything else is virtually identical with the introductions bruce buffer ladies and
gentlemen this fight is three rounds in the ufc a lightweight division introducing first
fighting out of the blue corner this man is a brazilian jiu jitsu fighter holding a
professional record 31 wins six losses standing five feet 10 inches tall
weighing in at 154 pounds fighting out of record 17 wins two losses
75 feet eight inches tall weighing in at 155 and one half pounds by
the end of whitby new jersey jim miller and when the answer begins our referee
in charge of the octagon is john shorley john shorley our referee the beautiful shondela
ariani jam pack irwin center university of texas right t-bow and miller tonight's
clock brought to you by halo reach and xbox 360. miller in the white trucks dark
trunks for t-bow southpaw against southpaw big left hand early t-bow trying to land t-bow looks very comfortable with his hands
early and he said that he's trained quite a bit of boxing for this fight anticipating having
a difficulty in taking jim miller down don't forget big night on spike coming up immediately
following our live fights team gsp team kostcheck this season premiere and he's got him
down early caught a leg kick by miller trying to control the posture of t-bow as
miller working the midsection is the brazilian brazilian jiu jitsu black belt
against brazilian jiu jitsu black belt throwing him aside looking to
latch onto the net miller's back up my constantino followed through and scored with that jab there's different types of jabs there's
setup jabs there's distance jabs and then there's the power jab and he just powered
through a jab but he gets taken down he's got to be careful jim's got that
neck jim's got to hold that front choke looking for an elbow on the brake for miller and now t-bow this type of fight will be exhausting for both men but especially
for miller as big and strong as t-bow let's go fellas and shoulders up on the break jim tim miller training on frequent occasion
with ufc lightweight champion frankie edgar miller is 17-2 in his mma career very hard workers primarily known for their
groundwork there will be no easy takedowns in this matchup tonight all next month it is brocktober here on spike
in anticipation of the championship battle between brock lesnar and kane velasquez we've got
our three-part series of ufc prime time and so much more lesnar versus velasquez for october in
october on spike that is a very intriguing fight next weekend mir and crow cop in the heavyweight
division ryan vader and little nogg tonight after our fight's the ultimate fighter the newest series
with gsb and koscheck t-bow is controlling the center of the octagon and right when i said that
jim miller cracked him and he nailed him again miller got that kick in and out
of the way that time and again miller keeps the head down keeps those hands tight 15 seconds left in this round you ready ready miller round two mike constantino
was very animated in the corner of jim miller said all right let's take it up a notch or
two now and miller has those gears available and he wants him to fake the leg kick and
then follow up with a straight left hand he wants him to get him thinking that
he's going to throw that kick so that blasey looks to catch it and then blast let's
see if he does that and glayson did catch it a couple of times in round one he also
doesn't want jim to ever stand still and when he sees glacier standing still he
wants him to move to get glayson moving still in trouble he's still dazed here mike and that's why he got taken down
so easily there he gets back up to his feet but he's still suffering from
that punch miller all over him here early he sensed the opening and he looked to
seize it tebow's still trying to recover miller's making him work here but he's
not hitting him and in this situation gleason is getting a chance to relax and miller's
got to be very cautious of the left arm of grayson he's not in danger anymore but
grayson has a nasty guillotine miller working against the fence
now pushing t-bow back into it to the inside of the thigh t-val
reverses now he'll try to work six and one in the ufc in under two years
jim miller t-bow has seven ufc victories attack off his back here both men very
well versed in submission right back up to his feet because he threatened
because he didn't just lay there in his guard he threatened glacier was
forced to move and now jim's back up just past the midway point of this
battle three five minute rounds miller delivered a big left hand here in round two saturday september 25th only on pay-per-view
the former ufc heavyweight champion against the former pride grand prix champion it's
mir versus croco coverage available has a 100 spanish broadcast and our prelims are
right here live on spite shoulder blocks up the timing a little bit tonight it's austin texas spectacular sports town they love
their longhorns and they love the and pushing jim miller back well you can tell
that the cut went well because blaisen seems very energized tonight joe yeah he really is
a freak of science can he avoid the single yes just over 30 now on the clock big takedown again
two very nicely timed takedowns here in round two for placing tebow yeah and that makes this
round very difficult to score he's attacking the triangle there and again grayson forced to back up
because jim miller doesn't just relax in his guard left hand with the ground in pound
tebow's going to finish round two on top the big left hand of jim miller connected
on glace and t-bow and had him in all sorts of trouble in real time you ready ready
right but t-bow recovered and earned two takedowns in that second round
good fight third and final round yeah you know it's interesting because he
didn't do anything with those takedowns he got him down but jim miller attacked off his
back in place he was forced to back out of it and jim got right back up so i got to
think that the punch was more important you're looking for some combinations double jab nicely done one one two
by glayson tebow yeah glace and his arms have recovered and his punches are
coming out a bit more fluidly in this round miller looking for strength ufc win danzig lopez ludwig vote
check he'd like to add tebow to the list well you know this is a tricky fight to score t-bow joe looking for his third straight yeah i mean in the striking exchanges jim's
got the better the action and definitely had placed it in more trouble but when you
factor in those takedowns things get weird both men will look for a definitive
finish here in round three spike's deadliest warrior game will be available
for download on the sony playstation network on october 5th it's also available on xbox live
arcade go to deadliestwarriorgame.com for more information another left hand jim miller is really
impressed with the action here mike then a good knee a good left hand and he is controlling the
center of the octagon now notice the difference mike constantino yelling out that he's going
to shoot they're worried i think a bit about gleeson stealing the rounds of these takedowns especially now that jim is getting
the better the stand-up exchanges and i'm sure justifiably so right yeah and
that's where miller's moving around taking different angles and not leaving himself
exposed well he's got to be careful every time he goes through those kicks
as well laces looking for that one the successful takedowns were set up with punches before by gleison or on
a counter miller saw that one coming every time you work for that takedown if you
leave that neck in there grayson's a dangerous guy gleeson is trying to get for a kimura here
miller relentless on his takedown attempt joey let's win this give me fight minutes five
let's go suck it up two minutes let's go frankie edgar gray maynard the only man ever to better jim
miller in his mma career miller and edgar train together a lot now but i'm i'm sure jim miller
wouldn't mind being in prime position at 155.
What a talent stack division cole miller
just jumped up the ladder tonight yes he did and again he stops to take down glazing
and glacier relentless jumps back in for a second time but now he's low jim has to be
careful here if glacier can get his feet under now miller has to be very
concerned about the takedown because this is a close round i mean miller's
winning the stand-up exchanges but it's close they're going to separate him
35 seconds and steal the fight and it's miller who look for it joe and steal it for either man who will
finish on a flurry miller pushing forward he really tries to step in with that job miller through another knee final
10 seconds of this fight they battled till the very end the judges will render their decision
will it be miller or t-bow we'll find out coming up next here on spike yeah miller's
striking i think you know the point significant damage in the fight it would be this
the striking of miller especially in the second really hurt him with that left hand jumped all
over him tried to take his back the judges scored this contest 30-27 30 27 and 29 28 for the
winner by unanimous decision jim miller big win for jim miller his fifth straight ufc
victory he's seven and one in the octagon here we go 24 year old ephrain escadaro four years
the elder of oliveira escadaro did not make weight 159 154 oliveira will have a two inch reach
advantage with the official introductions here's the veteran voice of the octagon bruce buffer
introducing first fighting out of the blue corner a brazilian jiu jitsu fighter holding a perfect
professional record 13 wins no losses standing five feet 10 inches tall weighing in at 154 pounds
fighting out of houston texas charles the bronx a freestyle fighter holding a
professional record 14 wins one loss 75 feet nine inches tall weighing in at 159 pounds
fighting in tempe arizona ladies and gentlemen he is the ultimate fighter season eight winner in mexico and when the answer begins our referee in
charge of this contest is carrie hatley debuts the season premiere gsp and cost check
this season's coaches the former winner ready to go against unbeaten charles oliveira tonight's
clock brought to you by halo reach and xbox 360. black trunks for escadero white for oliveira one of the things about oliveira having such
an outstanding guard beautiful flying knee is that he's not afraid of being taken
down so he can throw those wild kicks escudero coming off a victory over dan lauzon 14-1 against 13-0 outstanding match-up
here tonight live on spite right right here we go man here we go ready well
we know a flying knee could be coming constant movement early by a good kick nice straight right hand and
he covers up well afterwards the fight is on you know as we were
saying earlier i mean this young man is his jiu jitsu is so outstanding but the
people who train with him say his stand up standing look at that shot take down he landed a
left hand can't get him down yet though for the has really been working on the short
elbows especially in the ground he feels he's bigger stronger and the better
wrestler but be careful what you wish for if you get into a ground battle with oliveira ufc
119.
Next weekend from indianapolis frank mir mirko krokov ryan vader against little nog our
coverage begins with ufc prelims live on spike escudero i was just kidding all he
seems to be doing is holding on to him that frame trains at the lab in the
desert wbc superstar ben henderson nice leg kick inside there by oliveira
ducked onto the punches technique was a submission machine early on
season 8 of the ultimate fighter got to be careful of those head kicks from his
opponent tonight though a little smile on the face of 24 year old escudero oliveira just
20 as i mentioned and a good inside leg kick escudero said his training camp was excellent joe had that rib injury after he
won the ultimate fighter but comes into this fight as healthy as a mixed
martial artist can be the way that our fighters train well they're always a little banged
up there's always something going on but he's definitely fully functional here
nice leg kick again set up with the hands yeah and his technique is so sharp too he lands
it he's covered up protecting himself good defense escudero not looking for any shots so far looks like he's trying to solve the riddle of
the stand-up of oliveira mixing it up nicely here's the kid from two bronx
look at that nice great jab and then he shoots in he's get the single
it's gonna be tough though he's under the knee and he's trying to punish oliveira on the way in there's some elbows yeah
he's taking some shots here 45 seconds left in the round half guard he's on
top and fran is let's see if he can pass efrain was really working on short elbows from this
position in his training sessions here this week let's see what type of sweep
oliveira has let's improve there's the elbows big elbows by friend escudero just as we talked about
good way to finish the round good finish to round one right through right
through start of round two a lot of energy for oliveira and let's be clear the reason why
that fight wound up in that position on the ground because oliveira tried to pull guard we
tried to take him down and pull guard and that might have cost him the round it's very possible
you know escudero was on top at the bottom at the end rather and he was landing elbows ross pearson ultimate fighter winner
defeated earlier tonight by cole miller big fight at 185 still ahead in our main event with some title picture ramifications
between whosomar paul horace and nate marcor and then immediately following our live
fights on spike it's the ultimate fighter team gsp versus team cost check 28 new
lightweights season premiere tonight shows are wednesdays at 10 o'clock and don't
forget great documentary later tonight also he keeps trying that punch and then
trying to take down efrain escudero very difficult proposition yes a fantastic
wrestler got that timing down now he takes him down look at that so he completes it
look at that though and frank's got his back fran has to be careful as he has his back is that
oliveira doesn't lock on a kimura or reverse the position and wind up on top of fra watch the
hips and he lost the position totally so he's up good shot to the midsection well at least
now oliveira knows he can't take efrain down but couldn't control the
position once he got him down nice leg kick huge potential possessed by the brazilians
beautiful technique with those leg kicks mike these kids 20 years old you want
to talk about a bright future absolutely double knees escudero was coached by minotauro nogueira during
his season of victory lightweight ultimate fighter winner in season eight as we mentioned look
how relaxed oliveira is you know why because efrain is not trying to take him down look at him
he's just standing there finally ephraim starts to try to take him down he's able to relax because
he knows efrain just kind of holding on to him beautiful technique the way he throws it to
mind he's really whipping that leg into it turning that hip over escudero tried to
counter with that uppercut a moment ago oliveira was in and out
quickly nicely done with it starting to put on a little bit of a show here
he's clearly the superior stand-up fighter that's gennaro fights with a smartphone
his face look at that though yeah but he's caught this all this shocking and jiving and
everything is causing all there to tee off on it and again to the body this time show the left connected with the right 30 seconds remain here in round number two that's cadaryl trying to come
from a different angle again could be a big takedown if he
can get it he tried to throw him and he lost the position
and again efrain pulls away listen for the bell man listen for the bill to the third and final round
good job let's go let's go five minutes on the clock third round last
round last round let's pick it up great show of class and respect joe we we talked about the fact that escudero
hasn't used his wrestling skills he got caught but you know so what is his game plan well it seemed
like it was supposed to be to outbox him and keep made of the striking technique and there you see
an errant um one of the interesting things in between rounds mike is that escudero was picking
his left leg up he held it up and i think he had a real good poker face in that round but i think
those leg kicks did some serious damage let's watch and see what kind of weight he puts on that
front foot and let's see what happens if it starts getting hit again it's going to affect the power
that he can put into his punches and his kicks he throws one there and the advice that he was
getting in between corner was in between rounds by his corner was basically hit him yeah what are
you waiting for and hit him punch him in the face yeah it was like what that's a good game plan
if you can do it yes not really technical though oh again with that push kick i wonder if oliveira's corner had
noticed the effect of those leg kicks and landed a one there but not quite
full blast good one to the body wanted to keep this fight standing that's one of
the things that he said you know this guy's got really good jiu jitsu but what happens if you
can't take me down well this is what happens is standing up and like we said before
he hasn't really tried that off yeah and i just think escudero just didn't
know how good this kid's standup was standing right right right unintentionally hey get your hand out of
there this is a family show ladies and gentlemen my partner
joe rogan right here on spike you can't grab your balls on spike
tv where can you grab your balls he's hurt he took that one hard obviously now hopefully he will recover and
we'll have a sprint to the finish i don't know why the referees he's got five
minutes referee's saying let's go you got to let the kid recover walk around let's walk
around why is he telling him to walk down here we go tom the rest of this
fight let's go come on guys let's go pick it up let's go
all right 3 15 on the clock true sense of urgency from both fighters here escudero but oliveira's got all of
it nicely done by the 20 year old he's got him down trying to
pass that left leg but an angle and escudero scrambles to his feet quickly oh
man he's got his back he's got to be careful he's going to throw him forward here he's got it
under his neck though wow oliver's got the choke trying to submit a friend that's
gudero oh he's got it in teams and he jumped right through it look at this look
at this scramble everyone's got the leg in there he throws his other leg over the top utilizing
that long reach those long limbs and just sunk in that choke i mean he's really got it on
the jaw he doesn't even have it under the neck it's just so tight beautiful brought to you by
the new action comedy red in theaters october 15th recording the winner by tap out due to a rear
naked choke charles the bronx 14-0 in his mixed martial arts career 2-0 in the ufc here we

Dark trunks
from our court white trunks for paul no mystery about the game plans of these fighters
nate would like to stay up paharas would like to throw a big overhand right shoot for a takedown
and grab him marcourt reignited has a huge fire and a passion to get right back in this title
mix yeah nate has definitely got to stay clear of paul harris's grappling you know his
low stance well we saw what happened against damien maya it was
a huge knockout for mark paharis is quite a bit more
explosive than damien maya though faster and physically a much more powerful
man no question you can see it visibly a week from saturday we are with you from
indianapolis live on pay-per-view ufc 119 mirror versus crow cop vader versus
little nog prelims live on spike nine in the 86 in the west coverage
available also has a 100 spanish broadcast looking to land the first strikes joe well paul
harris has been working very hard on his stand-up mike he knows he's primarily known as a brazilian
jiu jitsu fighter and one way to open up that jiu jitsu is to get better at the strikes force guys
to respect your strikes and then as they're doing that you get the takedown and now one would
imagine he's pretty powerful with a striking yeah i don't think he does
anything soft yeah no question mark trying to keep him on the outside
let's see if he starts to establish that jab the marks hold his hands like roy jones jr yeah when have you ever seen
marquardt stand like this not got those hands hanging down yeah if he wants
to be able to stop that shot and shoot that jab and he pushes forward greg jackson calling for more of a mix hands are low expiring that jam
pushes in again he's got him he's got a single watch your legs nate's sprawling
trying to get out of it using his hips staying heavy on him paul harris is trying to turn the
corner seven-time king of pancreas nate mark nate marquardt's wrapping him up and no leg try no
arm triangle but the problem is he's on his back he's going to go for a leg mike he's
going to go for a leg that's what he likes to do in this position
he's going to go for a nose trying to better his posture better his
position ultimate fighter coming up next he lost uh he was pointing to his legs and smiled
and touched his ankle big shots by marklar relentless once he had the opening let's
let's see this again here's where he tries to go for the leg lock and nate just pops
right out of there but look at what he says he's pointing at nate marquardt to say he's
greased and that's when he gets tagged let's see this one more time look he points at him look
he's turning the referees like he's greased up wow and then he went up to nate look paul harris
is walking away very upset and he went up to nate and pointed to his ankles and said he was
greased you know i mean it really it could be just sour grapes declan the winner by tko nate
the great marker ninth ufc win for nate the great he will visit with joe rogan all right i'm here
with the winner nate the great marquardt and nate just to clear up the controversy it seemed
that paul harris was complaining that your legs were greased the doctor checked it the rings the
commission checked it totally clean there is no controversy the referee checked it as well that's
right and they checked it before i thought the thing is i came out really warm because i wanted
a good sweat you know i wanted to be slippery were you shocked though that he stopped and
actually pointed to the referee when he couldn't get the leg lock and then you tagged him yeah i
mean uh you know that's i just saw an opportunity jumped on it uh you know we kind of ended up in
that little scramble position and that wasn't part of the game plan but i saw the opportunity
and went for it well you did go for it and here it is you popped out of it perfect technique
he hesitated and you just jumped all over him and that's it yeah i mean i just want to thank
god for everything he's blessed me with my training partners my coaches uh teammates my
uh my sponsors and my management my family i love you guys i love you fans thank you
well congratulations on an excellent victory puts you right back in the heat nate
the great marquardt ladies and gentlemen
