Welterweights will collide in the UFC’s octagon on Super Bowl weekend.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a matchup between Max Griffin and Jeremiah Wells is set for the UFC’s event on Feb. 10 at a location and venue yet to be announced.
Griffin will make his 16th promotional appearance and looks to bounce back from a decision loss to Michael Morales in July. “Pain” has won four of his six most recent outings, including decision wins over Carlos Condit and Tim Means, along with stoppage victories over Song Kenan and Ramiz Brahimaj.
Wells also hopes to get back in the win column following his first octagon loss in August to Carlston Harris. Prior to that, Wells was victorious in six straight, including his first four UFC appearances.
The UFC’s Feb. 10 event will be headlined by a middleweight clash between Jack Hermansson and Joe Pyfer.
