KSI announces charity sparring session with IShowSpeed to counterprogram Jake Paul’s next fight

KSI isn’t letting Jake Paul have all the attention this December.

In a move that is sure to ruffle Paul’s feathers, KSI announced Wednesday that he and fellow influencer IShowSpeed will stream a live sparring session on YouTube on Dec. 15. The event is set to begin at 11 p.m. ET, not coincidentally around the same time that Paul will be making his walkout for his upcoming boxing match against Andre August in Orlando, Fla.

KSI and IShowSpeed made the announcement via social media.

All donations and ad revenue from the live YouTube stream are to go to the Anthony Walker Foundation, a charity dedicated to fighting against racism, hate crimes, and discrimination, through education and support services.

KSI has had a long history with the Paul family, having started off the influencer boxing trend with pair of fights with Jake’s brother Logan Paul in 2018 and 2019. The two have since buried the hatched and even become business partners with the Prime energy drink brand, but KSI and Jake have remained at odds and continue to tease a potential fight. This latest stunt by KSI is yet another jab at his rival.

In his most recent bout, KSI lost a unanimous decision to Tommy Fury in a bout that was widely criticized for its poor quality. It is the first loss of KSI’s six-fight pro boxing career.

IShowSpeed is a popular YouTuber who currently has almost 22 million subscribers on the video sharing platform. He previously called for KSI to meet him in a sparring match, which KSI verbally agreed to on the condition that it take place on the same date as Paul vs. August.
