DRAGON MUAY THAI (WALKING TOUR) 29-10-2019 | FITNESS STREET VLOGS

– It's time to do a walking
tour of Dragon Muay Thai here in Phuket, Thailand. (funky music) – Don't stand on your toe too much. – [Robyn] Okay. – Not too much take on those. (funky music) – Good afternoon, guys. It is the 29th of October, 2019. It's time to do a walking
tour of Dragon Muay Thai here in Phuket, Thailand. It's about 15 minutes of your time, so I'm not gonna waste it. I'm gonna give you as much
value in this video as possible, so if you're looking at
coming to Fitness Street or Soi Taied in Phuket,
Thailand on a fitness vacation, this is one place to consider, so I'll give you all
the information you need off of the top of my head, so hopefully, I don't forget anything, and then you can make your own decision whether this place is for you or not, so it is 2:30 in the
afternoon, 2:25 Tuesday, and everyone's doing privates,
now, private lessons.

Real quick, so on Fitness
Street, you'll find this place. They've been here for awhile. We trained here last year. We did a couple private lessons. – Okay, one, two, up. One, two. – Oh, sorry. – I'm not my brother. – I'm sorry, I'm sorry, the package. (Brad laughs) – [Brad] You didn't. – Did our private lessons
in separate videos. I'll link it all up if you wanna see us training with specific trainers here. Kru Charn, another guy, but I'll link those videos up separately. So we're here this year,
again, for a month. Not training at this particular camp. We're moving around a lot, but we're doing private lessons here, but just real quick,
you'll find this place on Fitness Street, or Soi Taied. I'll throw the map up on the screen, and it's a really awesome gym, so I'll show you the bungalows,
I'll give you the prices, and I'll just show you what it looks like, so we're gonna go for a walk.

Typically, they've got a
morning and an afternoon class, so they do, I think it's
8 until 10 in the morning, group Muy Thai session, and
afternoon, 3:30 until 6:00, four, five, I think 3:30 until 6:00, two and a half hours in the afternoon, and I believe it's 300
Baht per drop-in, right? Or 500 Baht per day,
so if you're not sure, this is what I usually suggest to people. If you're not sure in a place, rather than putting down
33,000 Baht for a month, or two months of training, or three months of training, rather, it's good to just come here,
and just do a couple lessons, and just feel it out for yourself, so it's good to know that the drop-in rate is 300 Baht per group class, and that's worth thinking
about, so anyway, let's go for a walk.

I'll show you quickly,
this is the external, this is the ring. This is one area of Dragon Muay Thai. Really, really cool. They've got all the bags around here, and there's one ring there, and there was a guy doing his private, but I think he's finished. I'll take you around through the front. So I'll take you through
the front reception, and you can really just
walk in off the street, and you can book a session. It's very easy.

You just roll up, pay your
cash, and then do the session. How are you doing? I'll take you, and this
is what it looks like. In fact, before I go in,
you might be wondering because I get this question a lot, too. What cafes, or what
surrounds the training gym? Is there anything, can I do my laundry? Can I rent a scooter? Where can I get coffee? So I'll show you real quick. This is the front reception
to Dragon Muay Thai through that door. They have breakfast right next door. They have a package on
their website, I noticed, where they offer breakfast if
you pay as part of a package. The breakfast is held right next door, and I'll take you there in a second, but if you're curious,
there's the Acai Cafe just across the road, right? And they serve amazing acai bowls. I was there back in 2017. I was there last year. Really, really nice acai bowls. I will make a separate video,
or maybe even cover that in a vlog.

That's Acai Cafe just there. If you wanna get coffee and whatnot, there's a place to go right
there called Siam Villas, and if you need to rent a scooter, you can rent scooters just there. Scooter rental, to be honest with you, you only really need it if you plan on getting away from the street. If you're planning on
staying on Fitness Street, then you don't really need a scooter, but I've hired my scooter from there, costing me 800 Baht just for the week. You could get it cheaper,
but 800 Baht for the week, literally next door to Dragon Muay Thai, and they've got Boss Cafe just there. They've got a really awesome
pad thai shop just there, and there's a barber right next door, so you can have your pad
thai, get your hair cut, hire a scooter, and
laundry is right next to the scooter hire place, which
is about 50 Baht per kilogramme, so convert that, if you're
watching this from the U.S., pounds, and convert that
to your local currency. Fifty Baht per kilo, really,
really amazing value.

Again, acai bowls, I think there's another barber place there,
coffee, accommodations. I stayed there two years
ago, and then coffee there, as well, and there's
plenty of other places on this street, as well. That's just literally
within a stone's throw of Dragon Muay Thai, and we'll
take you around this way. This is where they have breakfast. This is the breakfast
area, just here, all right? So if you're getting
breakfast as a package, that's where you'll have
breakfast, just in there. I've never had breakfast in there before, so I can't tell you if it's good or bad, but to be honest with you, it's probably gonna be pretty good, but maybe you can be the
judge and let me know what the experience is like, but I'll take you to the bungalows. So if you decide to
get the Dragon package, and I've never actually stayed
in these bungalows before, so I'm not endorsing them. I'm not even sponsored. I should've said that in the beginning. I'm not sponsored to make this video.

I'm just doing it because
I get a lot of questions about these places, but
if you're looking at doing a training and accommodation package with Dragon Muay Thai, this
is their accommodation. That's what it looks like, unedited. We'll go for a walk. If you, actually, before we do, if you hear the training right now, that's Dragon Muay Thai's other floor that they're training on.

It's straight through those
palm trees just there. So you can see that it's
just a very, very short walk to the bungalows, and I don't know. I haven't been inside, but
I think on their website they've got photos of the
bungalows, but on the outside, they look quite nice. You see some guy's drying
his wraps, and his shorts, and his gloves. It's really important
to dry out your stuff because you don't wanna
get a staph infection, so you see these guys do the same thing.

You have a little drying rack outside, and you'll be using that drying rack after each of your training sessions to dry out your wraps
and all of that stuff, but this is a nice little well-kept area. At a first glimpse, without
going into any of the bungalows, it looks very, very nice. It looks well-kept. I mean, look at this. They even have a hedge garden. That's more fancy than, I
don't need that, personally, but that's pretty good. They look after their gardens around here, so it gives you an idea
of, perhaps, the quality. Actually, hold on one second. I don't think there's anyone staying. Hopefully not. All right, that's the room. That would be really awkward
if someone was staying in there and they just walked out of the bathroom, but anyway, just rewind the
video, and take a snapshot. It looks quite clean in there.

So anyway, I'll take you
over to the other side. Just follow me along, I
know it's eight minutes, but you're getting the real deal here. This will be probably
the path that you take to do your morning classes,
and afternoon classes. More bungalows here. Walk around here. Here's the training floor, just here. So we're gonna walk through here, so there's actually a girl
training at the moment. She's doing a private
session, and she's a solo, she's a solo female traveller. Hey. That's Kru Charn.

He's a guy I trained with
last year, and two weeks ago. She's a solo female
traveller, and she's training at Dragon Muay Thai at
the moment, actually, so she's allowed me to
put a couple of clips of her training in, so
if you're watching this as a solo female traveller, rest easy because there are other
solo female travellers. How are you? Very hot. – [Trainer] Yeah, I'm out of breath. – Very, very hot. – [Trainer] Very hot. – [Brad] How are you feeling? – Tired. – [Brad] Yeah? – Yeah. – [Brad] Yeah? Feel good? – Very good. – [Brad] Yeah? You drink lots of water? – Every day, really good. – [Brad] Yeah? Me too. – I've got very good work mates. – [Brad] Me too. – Good trainers. – [Brad] Yes, good trainer. – Yeah. – Yes. He's obviously one of the
trainers, and he's training the girl who's travelling on her own, so yeah, this is what it looks like.

I'll walk you through here. So to give you an idea of what
you're getting yourself into if you decide to come here,
it's pretty rad, guys. I love this place. It's not that crowded. It's raw. It's authentic. There's a nice breeze
that passes through here when you're doing your training session. You're surrounded by trees. It doesn't feel like a factory. You're getting your real deal here. I really love it, and
I'll give you an idea of just how much water you drink out here because it's so hot. I mean, if that's any
indication of how much water you drink in this Thai heat, yeah, you just drink so much.

You make sure you keep
your hydration levels up. So this is the girl that is, sorry if you can't hear me properly, but this is the girl
that is solo travelling. I'll show you. She's allowed me to clip her
in, so I've had a chat to her. So guys, as you can see,
everyone comes out here, pro fighters, to people just
starting a fitness journey, to solo female travellers. I would love to bring her in. I've actually had a chat to a
couple solo female travellers. They're like, "I don't feel endangered." "I don't feel unsafe at all." It's a perfectly safe area. You meet lots of people. It's very, very social. It's a big community here. There's plenty of places
around on Fitness Street.

Go and check out the other videos if you want more ideas of where to eat. Hey. – Another day in paradise. Another one. – All right. See what I mean? That just happened at the right time. It's just one big community here. Everyone just seems to be
a part of a family here, and it's damn hot, so I
can't emphasise that enough. Hydration, hydration, hydration. You can do private classes here. I've done a couple private
classes here last year. I've done few here this year. My girlfriend's done some
both last year and this year, separate videos, 700 Baht per session. In my opinion, it's absolutely worth it. Pretty much all the gyms here
charge around the same amount for a private Muay Thai
session, about 700 Baht, but it's worth it. Kru Charn, absolutely amazing. Anyway, if you have any questions
about this training camp, let me know. I'll do my best. I'm not a pro fighter.

I'm not a professional. I love sharing the fitness journey. I love helping people make
decisions about training camps, fitness, travel, adventures,
that kind of stuff. They're not paying me for this. I just do this because
this particular place, maybe four questions in the last week about Dragon Muay Thai
specifically, and I could just say, guys, just go and contact Dragon directly. They'll help you. I'm sure they will, but
it's just easy for me to shoot a 15-minute video
to give you a walking tour of the reception area where
you can buy all your gear if you want.

There are plenty of places around here you can buy your gear from. Without doing another comparison video, you're gonna have to make the
decisions on what's cheaper, what's more expensive,
but just to let you know, you can buy your wraps, your
gloves, your shin guards, mouth guards, all of that, you can buy it from Dragon Muay Thai. One second, one second. (Man talks on megaphone in background) Anyway, I'm gonna finish with
showing you this, real quick. So this is the area where
you'll be walking into the reception part of the gym, and you can buy all of your gear, so shorts, tops, tank tops,
wraps, gloves, shin guards, skipping ropes, blah,
blah, blah, blah, blah, so that's it, but I wanna end with this, by saying that you can get
custom-made Muay Thai shorts with your name on it.

If you saw that video last
year, I went to another place along Fitness Street, where I had my name custom embroidered over
the Muay Thai short, so my name was custom
embroidered over here. This place does it. They do it. I asked reception. It takes about two to three
weeks for them to send it off to get it custom made, and
it costs about 1,500 Baht, so keep that in mind. If you're coming here for
a month, or two months, or three months, make sure
the beginning of your trip, you organise this with the reception here, and just say you want your
name custom in Thai script like this with your name,
and they'll do it for you.

I just checked them and
they'll do it for you. Fifteen-hundred Baht. It takes them two to three weeks. Guys, amazing paradise. Sorry to ramble, but this is it. This is Thailand. This is Fitness Street. I can't wait to have you guys here. Maybe if I'm here at the same time, we can meet up somewhere. Yeah, anyway, thanks for watching, and have an amazing, amazing day. Bye. (funky music).
