Yes that's right, we have the very talented Smilla here with us today. All the way from Thailand. So that's awesome, we're super stoked to have her here. It's good sparring for us. Good luck today. Thanks. Alright, Smilla Sundell, "The Storm". Good to see you. Good to see you too. So you're back here in Sweden, Have you moved back here or are you just visiting? I'm just visiting, I'll be going back in about two or three weeks. Oh okay. So now your signed with ONE Championship at just 16 years of age. All the Muay Thai lovers out there following Frontkick told us to check you out, To write about you, interview you and so on. And after talking to you just briefly, I immediately got the sense that you're taking this extremely seriously. That becomes very clear when talking to you. I sure do. I've lived by myself for about a year now without seeing mom and dad for a long time. So I think I'm taking this pretty seriously. For sure. For how long have you been doing this? For about five years now.
Alright. And how have you lived in Thailand? As long as I've been doing this, more or less. Alright, and what about Fairtex? When did you start to train there? I've been there for two years. I see. You're just 16, but what's year record? You already have about 40 fights, right? Yes, 37 or 38 I believe. Alright. How have you had time to fight so many times, despite your young age? I think I had my first fight at 12. Then I was able to fight quite a few times during that first year.
So I had lots of fights in the beginning of my career. And now you've already beat some of the absolute best fighters in your weight class You're the #1 ranked featherweight (126 lbs) in the world according to WBC's Muay Thai rankings. I think it's truly amazing how much you've accomplished at such a young age. Now you're also signed to ONE Championship. Do you know when you'll be making your debut? I don't really know yet, but I think it'll be sometime around October maybe. Something like that, it that ballpark. I see. We've seen some videos of you from Thailand as we started to follow you, I saw that you knocked out a dude in some kind of fight of exhibition fight, or what was that? Yeah it was a fight at the gym. SMILLA VS. A GROWN MAN. I didn't have any girls to fight anymore …
So the boss had me fight a man instead. Tell me more about that experience! They gave you a male opponent and it was on quite short notice as well right? Yes it was at the last second, I got the fight on the same day pretty much. Then you dropped him with a body shot … Now when you've got that contract with ONE, I mean, that's the big goal for many Muay Thai fighters, It's the biggest organization putting on Muay Thai and kickboxing fights today, What's your goal as you're approaching your debut? I want to win my first few fights, then I believe I'll go for the belt. You want to become the champion. They have Muay Thai, kickboxing and MMA over there …
Is MMA something you have in mind? Especially now when you're here at Allstars? I've started doing some BJJ, But it's not really my thing right now. In the future, probably. Now you're just gonna focus on the striking? Yeah. Alright. It was great to meet you here and I'm looking forward to follow your journey going forward. It'll be really interesting to see what you can accomplish in ONE Championship and we'll definitely be watching., Thanks. Good luck. Thank you very much. This video is sponsored by ….
